The Most Aggressive Defense Of Teachers You’ll Hear This Year

The guy who asked teacher Taylor Mali, “What do you make?” at a dinner party certainly never thought he’d get this answer.

Amazing. Take three minutes out of your day to watch this. It’s so powerful and spot-on. Go Teachers!

This is one of my favorite things on the Internet, ever.

Every time I watch it, I remember why I’m going to become a teacher. It’s not that I forget, it’s just sort of disheartening to have nearly every person I talk to about my future say, oh, sweetheart, you don’t want to do that. I would love to show this video to every overly-concerned relative or random acquaintance who thinks they have the right to tell me what I should or should not do with my life. This video makes me feel sane.

this is so goddamn awesome

i’ve had some pretty shitty teachers, but there are some absolutely flawless adults that i see at school that get up early every morning to teach, to help a bunch of kids understand college concepts, to explain to them that morals matter just as much as grades and equations. it’s not a very financially rewarding job, no, but i have so much respect for anyone who minds more about how much of a difference they’re making than about how much money they’re earning and how may people (including their students) may tease them for their career choice.

i’m going to be a teacher.
